Termite letters, or wood infestation inspection reports are usually required within 30 days before a real estate closing.
The inspector will look for active or previous signs of termites, wood boring beetles and wood decaying fungus and well as conditions conducive to the development of these organisms.

In most cases, a clear letter that is acceptable for closing will be issued. However, in some cases, a treatment will be performed in order to issue a clear letter.
